Quilting – the musical

If you happen to find yourself in the small town of Newton, Georgia, check out the Social Circle Theatre’s latest production – Quilters.

The story of a mother sewing her last quilt to give to her daughters is shown using the structure of the quilt – different blocks relate to points in her life.

The play debuted on Broadway at the Jack Lawrence Theatre in 1984, having been translated for the stage byBarbara Damashek and Molly Newman. The original book ‘The Quilters: Women and Domestic Arts’ is by Patricia Cooper and Norma Bradley Allen.

Opening night is on Thursday!
